Scotland

Scotland is a diverse and extraordinary country, steeped in culture and history. A land of contrasts, Scotland boasts vibrant and exciting cities such as Edinburgh and Glasgow, side by side with breathtaking lochs, mountains and coastlines that shouldn’t be missed. And don’t forget Scotland’s nearly 800 islands where you’ll find some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

Their rich fascinating heritage is something the Scots are immensely proud of. Scotland has produced some of the world's best writers, painters, sculptors, poets and musicians, and continues to do so. These great talents can often be seen at Scotland's many festivals, most notably the Edinburgh International Festival.

Scotland’s startling variety ranges from its Neolithic World Heritage listed sites to the wild glens and sparkling rivers of the Trossachs National Park. Of course, you can’t visit Scotland without trying to find Nessie at Loch Ness or visiting one of the country’s 40 distilleries and exploring The Malt Whisky Trail.

If there's one sport the Scottish landscape was made for, it's golf, which was invented by the Scots in the 15th century. Scotland boasts over 540 golf courses to choose from including world famous championship golf courses such as The Old Course St Andrews, Royal Troon and Gleneagles.

Scotland is a brilliant place for a road trip so tap into your inner 007, hire a vintage car and make like James Bond on the recently opened NC-500, already acclaimed as one of the world’s most scenic drives. Within an hour on the road you’ll have shed your pre-holiday cares, the reality of everyday life giving way to relaxation and rolling hills, dramatic coastlines, whisky distilleries, and – of course – cosy pubs aplenty.

When it comes to shopping, Scotland's cities really shine so you’ll have time to track down the designer labels at Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh or delve into Glasgow’s West End for those one-off vintage finds.
